The Georgia Gateway website is the home of Georgia’s new eligibility determination system for a number of social benefit programs including Medicaid, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP or Food Stamps), Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), Women Infants and Children (WIC), and Child Care and Parent Services.

Georgia Gateway Food Stamps Program
If you’re new to the Georgia Food Stamps program, also known as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) then you will want to get familiar with the Georgia Gateway website. Georgia Gateway is Georgia’s new online benefits portal that allows Georgia residents to complete a variety of tasks pertaining to their social benefit program.
Users can complete the following tasks by using their Georgia Gateway online account:
- Determine eligibility for multiple Social Benefit Programs
- Submit an application for benefits
- Check the status of a benefits application
- Check the status of their current benefits
- Report changes to their current benefits (i.e. changes to income or household size)
- Renew your current benefits
- View notices from the Georgia DFCS
- Upload requested documents
The Georgia Gateway website is managed by the Georgia Department of Family and Children Services (DFCS). All of the Social Benefit Programs managed by the DFCS are federally funded assistance programs run by the United States Department of Agriculture – Food and Nutrition Services Division. The goal of these assistance programs such as the Food Stamps Program is to provide low-income Americans with access to nutritious food.

Georgia Gateway Account
In order to renew your benefits online for food stamps, you will have to use the Georgia Gateway website. If you are familiar with the Georgia Gateway online benefits portal and have used the website before, you should already have a Georgia Gateway account.
If you have Georgia Gateway account and know how to log in, please use your Georgia Gateway User ID and Password to log in to your Gateway account. If you have a User ID and Password but need help using the Georgia Gateway website, we will walk you through the steps to log into your Georgia Gateway account.
Logging into your online benefits account is quick and easy if you use our Georgia Gateway Login instructions listed below.
Georgia Gateway Login Instructions
- To log in to your Georgia Gateway account to renew your benefits, you must first go to the Georgia Gateway website at www.gateway.ga.gov.
- Once on the Georgia Gateway website, you will see a section on the right side of the page that says, “Gateway Login.” Please enter your Georgia Gateway Login Information – User ID and Password into the Login box.
- Once you have entered this information, click the Login button and you will be redirected the Georgia Gateway Confidentiality Agreement. Please read the terms and click the “I Accept” button to proceed to your Gateway account.
- Once you consent to the terms, you will automatically be taken to your Georgia Gateway account page and can now begin the process to renew your benefits.

www.gateway.ga.gov Renew My Benefits Process
If you are currently receiving financial assistance in Georgia, you can use the Georgia Gateway website to renew your benefits for any of the following Social Benefit Programs:
- Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) or Food Stamps
- Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)
- Women Infants and Children (WIC)
- Child Care and Parent Services
The Gateway Georgia Gov Renew my Benefits Instructions can be used to renew your benefits for Medicaid, Food Stamps or TANF. Our instructions listed below will focus on how to complete the GA Gateway renewal for your Georgia food stamp benefits using your Gateway account.
Before you begin the www.gateway.ga.gov Renew My Benefits Process, you will need to gather the following information because you will be asked to provide it in order to submit your renewal for benefits. You will need the following information:
- Social Security Number (SSN)
- Name, Date of Birth and SSN of each Household Member
- School Name, Graduation Date and Status of any Household Member enrolled in Higher Education
- Legal Convictions pertaining to Food Stamps for every Household Member
- Medical Expenses for any Elderly or Disabled Household Member
- Resources for every Household Member (cash, bank accounts, retirement, etc.)
- Tax Return Deductions for your Household
- Employment status or changes for any Household Member
- Dependent Care Costs (must have proof is monthly amount is over $200)
- Monthly Shelter Costs for your Household
- Child Support Payments (if applicable, you must have proof for past 3 months of payments)
- Total Gross Monthly Income for your Household
Please make sure you have all the information listed above prior to starting your renewal. If you do not have the required information, you will not be able to submit your renewal for benefits. Once you have gathered the required information, you can begin the Georgia food stamp benefits renewal process by following the instructions below.
Gateway Georgia Gov Renew My Benefits Instructions
- Go to your Georgia Gateway Account Homepage – If you followed our Georgia Gateway Login instructions above, you should already be logged in to your Georgia Gateway account and go to your Gateway account homepage.
- Go to the “My Applications” Section – Once on your Gateway Georgia Gov account homepage, locate the “My Applications” section. Any current renewals for benefits that are in progress or have been submitted will be displayed in the “My Applications” section of your account. If you have a renewal in progress, please open your application and complete your renewal form.
- Go to your Benefits Information – If you are beginning a new benefits renewal, find your Benefits Information in your Georgia Gateway account and click on the benefit you wish to renew.
- Go to “Renew my Benefits” – Under your Benefit Information, you will see an option (with a link) to submit a renewal for benefits. Click on the “Renew my Benefit” link.
- Complete the Renewal Form – Once you have been taken to the electronic Food Stamp Renewal Form, begin to fill out the Benefit Renewal Form using the information you gathered above.
- Submit your Renewal – Once you have completed the Benefit Renewal Form with all required information, submit your renewal for processing. You can check the status of your renewal in the “My Applications” section of your Gateway account.
*Please note that only the head of the household can submit a renewal for benefits in Georgia.
If you’re a previous Georgia COMPASS account user and have not yet logged into the new Georgia Gateway portal, you may enter your COMPASS User ID and Password to gain access to your new Gateway online benefits portal.
