Renew my Georgia Food Stamps
As a Georgia SNAP EBT recipient, you are required to periodically re-certify your household’s eligibility for benefits. The Georgia Food Stamps recertification, also known as food stamps renewal, requires you to submit your household information to the DFCS.
This information will determine if your household is still eligible to receive Georgia food stamp benefits.
How often do I have to renew my Georgia food stamp benefits?
The renewal period for Georgia food stamps is different for each household. For most households, they are required to renew their Georgia food stamp benefits every 3 to 6 months.
However, if your household includes a mother and child, then renewal will be required every 6 months. If your household includes someone that is elderly or disabled, renewal certification is only required every 12 months.
When it’s time to renew your GA SNAP benefits, the DFCS will send you a recertification lettering the mail.
When are Georgia SNAP renewals sent out?
Georgia food stamps renewal letters are mailed out by the 25th of the month for benefits that are set to expire in the upcoming month. This means that your Georgia food stamps must be renewed by the end of the next month to avoid losing your SNAP benefits.
In general, Georgia renewal notifications are sent out to GA SNAP EBT recipients 30-days before your benefits are expected to expire.
