Georgia Gateway Gov Renew my Benefits Online

In this post, we’re going to walk you through the steps of the Georgia Gateway Gov renew my benefits process for food stamps. If you’re not familiar with Georgia Gateway or the Georgia Food Stamps Program, we’re going to help fill you in.

The state of Georgia’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), also known as the Food Stamps Program provides monthly benefits to eligible Georgia residents for the purchase of food. The Georgia Food Stamps Program uses the online benefits portal and eligibility determination system Georgia Gateway for a number of social benefit programs.

If you are currently living in Georgia and receiving food stamp benefits, this video applies to you. In this video, we will walk you through the steps to complete the Georgia Food Stamps Online Renewal Process.

Georgia Gateway Gov How to Apply

You can visit the Georgia Gateway Gov website (see link below at the bottom of this article) and go through a simple 15-minute screening process to see if you are eligible for public assistance. There are several federal government programs you may qualify for and going through the screening process tells you which programs are available based on your situation (by looking at your income and other factors).

If you need help using the Gateway website, there are community partners that can help you see if you qualify for benefits and can help you submit an application. You can also call 1-877-423-4746 for assistance on reviewing what you qualify for and applying.

Once you set up a username and password, you will need to remember that information since it will be required when you come back to the site to check the status of your application or manage your benefits account if you are approved for Food Stamps (SNAP), TANF, Medicaid, Child Care, WIC, or other programs available.

Check Status of My Benefit Application

You can check the status of your application by visiting the Georgia Gateway website, logging into your account and viewing the “My Applications” section in your account. Your account will display any current or pending applications, as well as their status.

Georgia Gateway Gov Renew My Benefits

You can use the Georgia Gateway Gov website to renew your benefits or report a change in your status. You must complete this application in order to apply for the renewal of your benefits. You can also renew your benefits by visiting your local Division of Family and Children Services (DFCS) office.

  1. I would like to know why my food stamps went from $289.00 a month to $220.00 for October and November of 2017. Cause when we had the hurricane IRMA come through in September 11 2017 I lost over 200 dollars in food.cause my lights were turned off from the storm. I went to the DFAC services in Lyons ga 30436. And no one ever called just got a letter bout getting 220.00 for those months. I thought they were going to replace the food that I lost. I want an explanation of why my food stamps went down.I have not had any food this month cause of this. I’ve tried calling and there are no changes in the house hold as of this time.my client number is or / ID is 300461829. Plz someone get back with me thanks.

    • Hi Jeannie,

If you are located in an approved county, your Food Stamp Benefits Replacement funds for Hurricane Irma should have already been distributed to your EBT account. If you are not located in an approved county, you can apply by filling out a replacement waiver here. Regarding the change in your benefits, I suggest visiting your local DFCS office. You can locate your local office here. Hope this helps!

  2. I dont know what counties were. But I do know alot of ppl that live near me or in the same county and other counties got there replacement in food lost. I went to toombs county dfac and filled out the form and took it back to them . All they told me was I would know something in four days or five days that they were backed up. And then I got the letter for what I told you guys. This isnt fair.I think. My renewal isnt til next month. And I dont understand why they went down.plz help me understand this.ok thanks.

    • Hi Jeannie,

Since we are not affiliated directly with the DFCS and do not have access to their information, we cannot tell you the exact reason your monthly benefits amount went down. That is why we suggested you visiting your local office. If you visit your local office you will be able to ask them for an explanation regarding your decrease in benefits, as well as when you should expect your benefit replacement for Hurricane Irma. Your benefit decrease could possibly be a result of the new law passed in select GA counties. Check out more info here. Please let us know how it goes! I know a lot of people are in the same boat.

  3. Why does it take so long for renewal apps to be done? During the hurricane I could not get to a computer, I am homeless and I am disabled waiting for disability. I need my food stamps noe

  5. I applied for food stamps benefits october 10, 2017. I have yet to hear ANYTHING in regards to my case. No letter, phone call, NOTHING! It has never taken this long for me to hear something. Ive been down to my local dfcs office and all they have told me is that no one has picked my case up yet. I shouldnt have to keep taking off to get useless updates. Is the wait the new normal? When will i hear something back? Will i receive back pay?

    • Hi Robin,

Unfortunately, long wait times are very common for SNAP applications with Georgia DFCS. They tend to get backed up very easily and experience delays around the holiday season due to an influx of applications. I wish there was more we could do!

    • Hi Jackson,

Please contact the Georgia SNAP Hotline at 1-800-436-7442. They will be able to give you an update on your new EBT Card. Thanks!

I’m sorry to hear about the trouble you’re experiencing. I suggest you print out of the SNAP Renewal form here, fill it out and mail it into your local DHS Office to ensure your renewal is submitted by the correct date. Hope this helps!

      • 1/15/18 is the date my food stamp renewal needed to be submitted. But due to this online mess an the holiday today. I can’t even go by the local office. Will my food stamps be cut off or interfered with due to the website not working?

      • Hi Melodee,

The Georgia Gateway website is back up and running so you should be able to submit your renewal application today.

  7. I had a renewal due by March 31,2018.. I did my renewal on March 16th. The portal shows it being submitted that day.. I have not received or heard anything from my caseworker and today I checked my card and I did not receive anything!! Honestly, ever since you guys began this site, I and several others have had nothing but issues. Unfortunately I have a caseworker who does not seem to care nor gets into a hurry to work on my case!!

  8. My status is active but when I check my card it has no benefits on it. I was renewed on April 11th and the benefits were supposed to be dropped then. I’ve called the 8774234746 number several times and can’t get anyone also I call my local office and they won’t return my phone call. I just need to know what to do next. It’s been 5 months without benefits.

    • Hi Meagan,

I’m so sorry to hear about the trouble you’re having. I would try going to your local office in person. Sometimes its the only option when you need to get answers.
