How to Apply for Food Stamps
Step 1: Download and Complete Application

You can request a paper application by visiting your local DFCS office or by calling the Customer Contact Center at 877-423-4746 and asking that an application be mailed to you. Be ready with your mailing address before you call.
Note: As of March 2016, applications for food stamps can no longer be submitted online in the state of Georgia.
Step 2: Submit Completed Application
Submit an application by mail or in person to your local Department of Family and Children Services (DFCS) office. You can submit your application to the DFCS Office address shown above or click here to find the closest office in your county of residence.
Step 3: The Interview
After your application is filed, you or a member of your household must be interviewed by a staff person from DFCS. You may be asked to provide proof of identity, citizenship or immigration status, Social Security numbers for those requesting assistance, and proof of household income.
