In today’s post we’re going to walk you through how to create an account for Georgia’s new online benefits portal Georgia Gateway, formerly known as My COMPASS. The Georgia Gateway portal is a new system that is being used for various social benefit programs in Georgia, including the food stamps program. The Georgia Gateway portal is used to apply for benefits, check the status of an application, review your current benefits, submit a renewal of benefits and report any changes to your accounts or information to your local Division of Family and Children Services (DCFS) office. To create an account for Georgia’s new and improved online benefits portal, known as Georgia Gateway, please visit the Georgia Gateway website here.
It’s important to note that if you are a previous Georgia COMPASS user, you can use your COMPASS User ID and Password as your login for the new Gateway portal. If you did not have a COMPASS account, please proceed with the steps below for creating a Georgia Gateway account.
Step 1: To create a Georgia Gateway account, click on the yellow “Create Account” button in the blue box below the Login section on the Georgia Gateway homepage.
Step 2: You’ll be redirected to a new page titled, “Setting Up An Account.” Please complete the first section of the page by entering in your first name, last name and email address.
Step Three: Complete the second second on the page by creating a unique User ID and Password. This information will be used to log into your Georgia Gateway account, so be sure to choose something that you will remember.
Your Georgia Gateway User ID must contain 6-15 letters and/or numbers – no special characters. The Password must be contain 8-15 characters, including a minimum of one upper-case letter, one lower-case letter and one digit – special characters can also be used.
Step Four: Complete the third section by setting three secret questions. Select a question from the dropbox menu provided and type the answer in the box below. This information is collected as a security feature used to protect your account if someone other than yourself try to gain access. You may also be asked one of these when trying to recover or reset your User ID and/or Password.
Step Five: Complete the last section of the account creation page by checking the box for the User Acceptance Agreement. Please read the User Acceptance Agreement carefully and check the box if you’re in agreement with the outlined information.
Step Six: Once everything on the Account Setup Page has been completed, click the orange “Create Account” button located at the bottom right of the page.
Step Seven: You will be directed to a new page that states a Confidentiality Agreement. You must select “I Accept” in order to proceed with setting up your Georgia Gateway account.
Step Eight: Once you’ve accepted the Confidentiality Agreement, you will have now successfully created your Georgia Gateway account! You will be directed to a login page where you can proceed by entering your User ID and Password to access your Georgia Gateway account.
Once you have successfully logged into your Georgia Gateway account, you’ll be able to start a new application, finish a saved application, check the status of an application, review your current benefits, submit a renewal of benefits and report any changes to your accounts or information.
